ARC In The Community

ARC is Proud to be a Strong Supporter of Local Communities

ARC places high value on community participation and encourages employees to contribute to the communities in which they live and work. We are committed to enhancing the quality of life in those communities through investments that

  • Support the volunteer efforts and charitable giving of our employees; and
  • Support the needs of the communities in which we live and work.

Each year ARC makes significant contributions in the community to notable causes. In 2009 ARC contributed $1.6 million to not-for-profit groups both in Calgary and in its field communities. Listed below are a select handful of the community projects that ARC partners with:

Alberta Cancer Foundation

The Alberta Cancer Foundation raises funds to support cancer research projects, patient education and support programs, equipment and technology acquisition, and cancer treatment programs. ARC is supporting the Molecular Cancer Epidemiology Research Chair and has contributed $500,000 to support this research.

The United Way

The United Way, who gives individuals and families the opportunity to reach their potential and improve their quality of life. In 2009, ARC and its employees contributed approximately $615,000 to the Calgary and area United Way Projects.

Canadian Sport Centre Calgary

The Canadian Sport Centre Calgary (“CSCC”) is one of the top training environments in the world for Olympic athletes. ARC has invested over $200,000 to the CSCC as part of a mutually beneficial partnership. At the heart of the partnership is ARC's Inspiring Excellence program, which embraces the relationship between Olympic athletes and ARC's commtimment to success and culture. Local Communities

ARC employs residents of the local communities in which it operates and has more than 200 field staff and consultants working in its six core areas. These areas include Northwest British Columbia & Northeast Alberta, Northern Alberta, the Pembina area in Alberta, the Redwater area in Alberta, Central Alberta, Southeast Alberta & Southwest Saskatchewan, and Southeast Saskatchewan. ARC makes financial commitments to these communities and encourages active volunteer involvement and participation in local initiatives.
